Manny Toribio, Assistant Director of Facilities Planning & Management (FPM) for Drake University has 10 years of experience in higher education and local government combined. Mr. Toribio has served as the Assistant Director for approximately two (2) years. Previously Mr. Toribio held a city administrator and planner roles with the City of Prairie City and Des Moines. Mr. Toribio’s background and experience includes maintenance of buildings & grounds, neighborhood development, planning, land use, zoning, public administration, urban revitalization, strategic planning, code enforcement, fundraising, and community development.
He enjoys being involved in the community and professional organizations. He is a board member and secretary of Hispanic Educational Resources Inc. He is also a project mentor of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
He completed the Community Leadership Program through the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute in 2016. He also received the Governor’s Volunteer Award in 2013.
